I was surprised to find such a large and varied offering of non-fiction books here. I especially enjoyed perusing the history section, which had subjects of interest I haven't seen at other book stores.

Don't judge this book by its cover! This tiny gem specializes in non-fiction and unlike most used book stores it is clean, neat and very well organized. The owner is a super-nice guy, very helpful and he runs a buy one get one for 50% off BOGO. I walked out yesterday with two hard cover, first edition books for a whopping $17.00, and if my wife hadn't been with me I would have left with an armful of books! Highly recommended...I can't wait to go back.

This is one of the best used book stores around. They specialize in non-fiction and a few classics. I love perusing the books when I'm on this side of town.

A must do for any nonfiction reader! There is a small amount of fiction books, but most of the inventory is non fiction across a wide range of genres. I was very happy to see Michigan specific books and a great urban design section. prices range from $2-$30, but with most books in the $10-$15. The owner is a delight as well. Overall a great store

This is an awesome used bookstore, especially if you like nonfiction. This book store has one of the largest nonfiction sections that I have ever seen, and they’re all decently priced. There’s also a decent selection of bargain priced books. The owner is also very helpful.

I have been a used book seller for over 40 years, and have been in hundreds of used book stores nation-wide. Great Matter Books is surely one of the most accessible, best maintained bookstores in the Midwest, and without a doubt, the most affordable bookstore for the high quality offered that it has been my privilege to enjoy. Prime selection in a pleasurable and purposed environment, at more than affordable prices.

Walked into this place hoping to find a lot of children's books for my classroom. I was actually shocked by the wide variety of non fiction books they have here! And super vintage books as well. I did end up finding some unique children's books and had a good conversation with the clerk when checking out. I wasn't just a customer coming to buy books. We got to talk about some of my selections and went on to talk about life and attending college and careers we chose to study. There was also a beautiful mural painted on the side of the building!

TONS of nonfiction to pick from. Everything is organized so it is easy to find the genre you’re looking for. There is a small fiction/literary section as well, but nonfiction is 90% of the shelves. An awesome little place!

Amazing used book store focusing on non-fiction of all types. The owner is incredibly kind and knowledgeable and the prices are very reasonable. You can tell a lot of love goes into this store! There's also a great collection of antique ads and art prints to browse.
